Playcall
Playcall is a free prediction game. There is no entry fee, no stake, and nothing to buy.
You can't put money in, and you can't lose any. There is no wager, no deposit and no purchase that affects how you do. Nobody can pay for extra answers, better odds, earlier access or a higher score — the game is free for everyone, permanently, and that is a rule about the product rather than a launch promotion.
Each calendar month, the top ten qualifying players on each of the two national boards receive a $20 gift card. That is twenty prizes a month, a fixed number regardless of how many people play.
Ranking is by accuracy, not volume, and a game only counts toward your month if you answered at least four of its seven breaks. Short months are topped up with coin flips, the way a batting title credits hitless at-bats — so a good week is not the same as a good month, and stopping while ahead does not work.
Anyone thirteen or over can play, appear on every board, and hold a rank. To receive a prize you must be nineteen or over and able to confirm it. Where the top-ranked player is not eligible, the prize goes to the highest-ranked player who is.
These contests are run and funded by the developer of Playcall, who is the sole sponsor. Apple is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, these contests in any way. Any questions or complaints about a contest should come to us, not to Apple.
Answers are graded automatically from the official play-by-play feed. A question that cannot be settled from it is voided and counts for nobody, rather than being guessed at. Running several accounts to enter more than once, or automating answers, forfeits any prize.
Playcall reads publicly available game data. It is an independent app and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Major League Baseball or any club. Games get delayed, suspended and rained off; when that happens, open breaks are voided and settled ones stand.
